Blondie + Fugazi + Hillbilly Frankenstein
+ Talking Heads + P.I.L. + Television + King Crimson = System
Noise. Art rock for a whole new generation.
- J.R. Oliver, EarCandyMag
From the void, an original sound with a scorching
lead vocal has ignited. System Noise is the rebirth of rock
for the future.
System Noise buzzes between genres, transcending
any pure classification. Songs instantly hook listeners then
grind eardrums to fine sediment. The style grooves along structured
lines and blooms with classical awareness. Rising above these
churning tones is a dynamic female vocal, replete with sweetness
and fury. The music is robust yet ethereal, organic yet precise
and, above all, distinctively System Noise.
In 2003, singer Sarah Mucho, guitarist Kurt
Leege and drummer Paul Pouthier discussed taking music in a
new direction. The idea was to draw upon a range of genres,
creating original sensibilities through exceptional musicianship.
Bassist David Smith instantly connected to the titanic sound.
The result is System Noise.
The members of System Noise seamlessly blend
diverse musical backgrounds to transform traditional rock &
roll. Sarahs vocal roots are in musical theater but her
influences range from David Byrne to Patti Smith. She easily
shifted to rock after her arrival to the New York music scene.
Kurt, a trained classical pianist, picked up a guitar when he
was 16 years old and immersed himself in jazz, funk and experimental
music. Paul comes from a hard rock/heavy metal background but
developed his layered style with elements of funk, progressive
and world music. David played the saxophone in his teens and
trained at the Cleveland Institute of Music in piano, but his
musical world was forever changed when he picked up his fathers
Rickenbacker bass when he was a freshman in high school.
System Noise, through electric shows and an
expanding recorded catalogue, is ringing in the ears of the
New York Metropolitan area. It is bringing a new sound from
the underground, from beneath the feet of giants.
